HANOVERTON — There was not stopping United on Friday.
Luke Courtney threw four touchdown passes and kicked two field goals and five extra points in leading the Golden Eagles past Columbiana, 47-7, in Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference play.
United improves to 5-1 overall and 2-1 in the EOAC, a game behind Southern Local and Valley Christian. Columbiana is 0-7 and 0-3 in league play.
Grant Knight had three touchdown catches from Courtney, while Jenson Baker and Gavin Berger added touchdown runs.
The Eagles led 34-7 at halftime and held the Clipper offense out of the end zone.
Columbiana scored in the second quarter on Caleb Buchheit’s 33-yard interception return. Aidan Radcliffe added the extra point.
Both teams play next Friday as United visits East Palestine and Columbiana hosts league co-leader Valley Christian.

BELOIT — Two-time defending Eastern Buckeye Conference champion West Branch is at it again.
Dru DeShields threw five touchdown passes in the first half and the seventh-ranked Warriors rolled over winless Minerva, 57-7, in an EBC opener Friday.
West Branch is 5-1 overall and stretched its league winning streak to 12 games.
The Warriors led 30-0 early in the second quarter and 51-0 by halftime.
DeShields threw two touchdown passes to Joey Jackson and one apiece to Nate Summers, Michael Kanagy and Christian Martig.
Garin Harlan, Boston Mulinix and Charles Bonnott contributed touchdown runs.
Eliza Hirst was 4-of-5 on extra-point kicks and Christian Martig added another one. Mulinix and Jackson also had two-point conversion runs.
Minerva drops to 0-5 overall. The Lions are 3-72 the last eight seasons.
Both teams return to league play next Friday as West Branch visits winless Marlington and Minerva travels to Salem.

BROOKFIELD –Brookfield hasn’t missed a beat since losing its opener.
The Warriors sent Crestview to a 53-6 running clock loss on Friday to move to 5-1, 3-0 in the Mahoning Valley Athletic Conference Gray Division.
Donovan Pawlowski passed for 240 yards and rushed for 77 more to lead the winners.
Kirtland Miller threw a late touchdown pass to Matthew Strank for the Rebels, 1-4, 1-1.
Crestview, who sat out last week because of Liberty canceling, is at LaBrae next Friday.

LISBON –Lisbon started slow against East Palestine but found its stride in a 34-0 homecoming rout on Friday.
The entire first quarter was a quagmire until Trevor Siefke ran for an 18-yard touchdown. After that the Devils were unleashed.
Siefke ended with 30 yards rushing and two touchdowns. He also threw a 8-yard touchdown to Logan Staufferat the end of the second quarter.
Haiden Colvin rushed for 66 yards to top the Devils. His 45-yard touchdown run in the third quarter put the Devils up 28-0.
Ashton Hinchliffe also had a 2-yard touchdown run the Devils in the third quarter.
Austin Dailey had 63 yards rushing to bolster the Devil rushing attack.
Owen Jurjavcic had 33 yards rushing for the Bulldogs, while Jesse Lipp had 26 yards on the ground.
Lisbon snaps a three-game losing skid and is now 3-3 and 1-2 in the Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference. The Blue Devils will be at Wellsville on Friday.
East Palestine is 1-5 and 1-2 in the league. The Bulldogs host United on Friday.
